On April 6, 2013, an opthalmic camp (Eye Screening Program) named ‘Nishulka
Aakha Shivir’ was held at Parvati Higher
Secondary School at Dhungkharka, Kavre by
Kathmandu University Red Cross Circle (KUYRCC),
accompanied by two honourific doctors from Kathmandu University Dhulikhel Hospital marking World Health Day
(April 7).
More than 300 students studying in the school were tested for
eye-vision and were provided with free eye-checkups at the camp. The free
eye-checkup was also utilized by elderly men and women of the locality.
Volunteers and active members of KUYRCC strategized the registration, the queue, vision-tests and entertainment for the children.
The event ran smoothly with a successful end at 3
pm, none of which would have been possible without the endless co-operation of
the principal, the staff, the students of the school and the doctors. KUYRCC
can never thank enough to these glorious gentlemen and ladies, and hope to
conduct more productive events in the school in the future.
